Service Description
The mind and body are not separate entities, although there is a tendency to think and act as though they are. The gross form of the mind is the body, and the subtle form of the body is the mind. The practice of yoga integrates and harmonizes the two. Both the body and the mind harbor tension or knots. Every mental knot has a corresponding physical, muscular knot, and vice versa. The aim of yoga is to release these knots and muscular tension by dealing with them on the physical level. Yoga asanas are techniques that place the physical body in a position that cultivates awareness, relaxation, concentration, and meditation. Part of this process is the development of good physical health by stretching, massaging, and stimulating the energy channels and internal organs. This 75-minute class combines the three most important parts of yoga: The movement and stretching part (Asana): This strengthens the body and improves health. The breathing practices (Pranayama): The breath is the most vital part of the body. It influences the activity of every cell and, most importantly, is intimately connected to the activity of the brain. The breath is the bridge between the body and the mind. Meditation: This practice brings a sense of stillness, clarity, and connection, helping to release mental and emotional knots and inviting deep rest and inner harmony.
